The power of Fitness

“Learn to love the things that are good for you.” – Vincent Lam

Hey Friends,

Let’s talk about the power of Fitness. I’m sharing Vincent Lam’s Ted Talk video titled the power of Fitness this time. Read my last blog about your ikigai here.

Vincent mentions he doesn’t like public speaking but pushed passed this dislike to share his message. What an act of great courage. Really admirable.

In his Ted Talk  (for e-mail subscribers click here to watch) , he does an incredible job of breaking down Fitness. Sharing his journey and experience with exercise. He explains its importance and what happens out bodies with five specific points. His father’s health journey was very different from that of his mothers. As a result of going to the gym, He saw the progress that kept him consistent, inspired him to study, and made him realise it was his passion, which he then turned into his career.

I have never been or desired to be a fitness guru. (shout out to them because that is a serious grind) I talk briefly about Fitness in my blog post, priorities your peace. Although for more context, I have been going to the gym consistently since 2018, about six years.

It was mainly for general health and lifestyle purposes. However, as the years have passed, I’ve seen physical changes in my body (my body weight fluctuates often). I also mostly felt the mental health benefits of going; this alone is enough to keep me going back. After a great workout, I feel all the endorphins flooding my body, and everything in life Is fantastic! At first, I was using the machines in the gym, the treadmill; this got boring super-fast for me, and the idea of touching weights was frightening. Group gym classes are where I found the most joy. So, I went to a class in the evenings three times a week.

I hope you enjoy watching the Talk as much as I did. There are so many gym options in London and many ways to incorporate more Fitness into your life. Take the stairs, work out with a friend instead of going to eat, go for a walk on your lunch break, track your steps on your phone, and set yourself a goal. It’s all about Focusing on consistency and finding a solid WHY.

When you learn to love the things that are good for you. You won’t stop doing them.

Do you believe in the power of Fitness?

Till next time

Lots of love Sasha x
