Welcome back to my blog post for April! *cue celebratory fireworks*
As this is the month of Easter I thought this would be the perfect time to share the Good news of the Gospel as a refresher for us believers and also for anyone who may not be too familiar. Also, I want to some of my favorite Christian YouTube Channels that have been feeding my spirit through this final stretch of the Lockdown.
Hearing and reading the word of God regularly is vital as it assists in strengthen our faith and it also empowers us to renew our minds, as a result, we can navigate our walk with Christ more effectively. (Romans 10.17 ,Romans 12:2)
Now, here’s the Good News!
In the beginning, after God created the Heavens and the Earth. God’s creation was so beautiful that he decided to create us humans to share it with him (see Genesis 1.27 and Genesis 2.7). God created the first-ever humans Adam and later Eve, He created us to be in close relationship and communication with him. God wants to have a close relationship with you and me.
As we continue to read the old testament we understand God’s relationship with man and we see the origins of human Sin. The old testament is filled with prophecies of a coming Messiah who will take away the sins of the world. (see Isaiah 53.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3.16
Easter is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus is king, Jesus Christ is our Redeemer! He’s my saviour.
Before we all crack open our Easter Eggs this year. We must appreciate the gift of Jesus Christ and what it means to be a follower of Christ.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Matthew 16:24-26
A significant part of following Christ is denying our flesh which isn’t the easiest thing to do. It’s not easy because we live in a sinful world. Lord knows I am not perfect. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
I’m learning every day that a relationship with Christ requires much faith, communication, surrender, and sacrifice. Thankfully, the Bible tells us that he looks at our hearts and we are saved by grace through faith. (1 Samuel 16:7, Ephesians 2:8)
We must make every effort to seek holiness, follow the commandments and strive to become more like Jesus. I must constantly remind myself that this world can’t offer me more or anything better than Jesus.
As we celebrate let’s take some time to remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness and ask ourselves what are we willing to sacrifice to carry our crosses more firmly?
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6.17
Scripture is our armour and these YouTube channels truly focus on the word of God in an effective a. I think it’s important that we add more Christian voices and influences to our lives as this world is already clouded with many voices. The bible states that we must “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Joshua 1:8. I hope these channels bless you as much as they’ve blessed me.
As great as I believe these channels are please ensure you read the bible for yourself. (1 John 4) When I initially set out to write this post I didn’t realise I would have so much to share. (The Holy Spirit took over haha) To keep this post as short as I possibly can, I am going to follow up with part two of this post which I will upload next month. There’s been so many amazing channels I’ve seen that I just need to share. Lives are being transformed through the greatness of Jesus Christ.
If you believe this to be good news, make sure you Pass it on 🙂
Till next month,
Lots of love
