Let’s talk about Vision boards!

“A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.”– Rosabeth Moss Kanter

Hey friends,

Welcome back to my blog! On Saturday, the 14th of January, I attended the Refix vision board party 2023. I had a really great time and met some fantastic people. The event took place at the Hearth, a comfy location a short walk away from queen’s park station in north London. Once we settled in, we got a little cosier as a group of about twenty or so Women. We positioned our chairs to form a circle, and while seated, we went around in a circle introducing ourselves and sharing a little about our goals for this year. The event was hosted by London-based UI Designer Rachael, the brand owner of TheRefix, a space that encompasses all things, Lifestyle, home, and design based. This was followed by a brief discussion with three great guest speakers Narisica, Iman Leila, and Kia Commodore, who shared their experiences growing their careers in astrology, PR and Finance. Their stories were very inspiring and full of encouraging words. Once this part of the evening ended, we went ahead and began creating our vision boards. The energy in the room was enhanced as the magazines and scissors came to play.

Let’s talk about setting a vision.

I have made a few vision boards in the past, and earlier this year, I created a digital vision board on my phone. If you haven’t made one before, I recommend it, especially if you have aspirational dreams.

Why? I hear you asking. Creating a vision board helps you visualize what you want and bring your dreams to life. At the very least, it will keep you motivated throughout the year. Anyone can make a vision board, and it’s not something you need to share with people. A vision board is a combination of images you choose that represents what you want out of this year (or life in general)

Great news! There Is no perfect “set date” for when you should or should not create a vision board which means once you know what you want in your head, you can get started right now finding the images you wish to include. This can be done digitally (using PowerPoint and google images) or with a large sheet of paper and a few magazines.

Vision boards are all about you and your desires coming together. I now have two vision boards one on my phone and the one created at this event.

Will you be creating a vision board?

Till next time,

Lots of love

Sasha

I love creating my annual vision board, including revisiting it every quarter to keep me focussed on my goals and aspirations!
